Privacy Notice
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Introduction
SNYCRA (“we”, “us” or “our”) operates a website that helps people in Worcester, Western Cape, connect with independent plumbing, electrical, solar and backup-power service providers.
We respect your privacy and are committed to handling your personal information responsibly and in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
This Privacy Notice explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use and share it, how we protect it, and the rights you have regarding your personal information.
SNYCRA is an enquiry and referral service. We do not personally perform the work requested through our website. The service providers we refer enquiries to operate independently.
2. Personal Information We Collect
When you submit an enquiry through our website, we may collect the following information:
- Contact details: Your full name, telephone number and email address.
- Location information: The suburb or area where the work is required.
- Service information: The type of service you need, the nature of the job and any additional details you provide.
- Timing and communication preferences: When you need assistance and your preferred method of contact.
- Additional information: Any other information you voluntarily include in your enquiry or provide when communicating with us.
When you visit our website, hosting and security systems may also process technical information, such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages requested and access timestamps, where applicable.
Please do not submit passwords, identity numbers, payment details or other sensitive information that is not necessary to describe your service enquiry.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Receive, review and manage your service enquiry.
- Understand the type of assistance you require.
- Identify a relevant independent service provider for your enquiry.
- Share your enquiry with a relevant provider where you have given the required permission.
- Allow the provider to contact you about your request.
- Maintain records of enquiries and related communications.
- Protect the website against spam, misuse, fraud and security threats.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and handle disputes when necessary.
We do not use your enquiry information for purposes unrelated to these activities unless you have given the necessary consent or another lawful basis permits the processing.
4. Sharing Your Information with Service Providers
SNYCRA may share relevant details of your enquiry with an independent service provider who offers the service you have requested.
We will do so in accordance with the consent statement displayed on the relevant enquiry form and applicable law.
The information shared may include your name, contact details, job location, service requirements and preferred contact method. This allows the provider to follow up with you, ask questions, discuss pricing and availability, and determine whether they can assist.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that a provider will contact you, provide a quotation or accept the job.
Service providers operate independently of SNYCRA. Once your information has been shared with a provider, that provider may process it in connection with your enquiry and is responsible for its own applicable privacy obligations.
You should contact the relevant provider directly if you have questions about how they use your information after receiving your enquiry.
We may also share personal information with website hosting, email-delivery or other technical service providers where reasonably necessary to operate and secure our website and manage enquiries. We may disclose information where required or authorised by law.
We do not share enquiry information with unrelated parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Website Hosting, WordPress and Email Delivery
Our website uses WordPress software and is hosted by a hosting service selected by SNYCRA. When you submit an enquiry, the website processes the form and sends the details by email to SNYCRA for follow-up. The hosting provider and the email-delivery service configured for the site may process or store personal information as reasonably necessary to operate, deliver and secure these services.
The location of hosting and email infrastructure depends on the providers and configuration used for the website. Where personal information is transferred outside South Africa, SNYCRA will take the steps required by applicable law, including POPIA, for that transfer. The website hosting provider and any email-delivery provider may have their own privacy terms that also apply to their services.
WordPress is the website software; it does not by itself determine where the website is hosted or how enquiry emails are delivered.
6. Consent and Your Choices
Our enquiry forms include a consent statement explaining that SNYCRA may process your information and, where appropriate, share it with a relevant independent service provider so they can respond to your request.
You can choose not to submit an enquiry if you do not wish to provide the information or give the required permission for the referral.
You may contact us to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal, and we may be unable to complete a referral if the necessary permission is withdrawn.
Please note that withdrawing consent after your information has been shared cannot automatically remove information already held by an independent provider. You may need to contact that provider directly.
7. Storage and Retention
Your information may be processed by the website and its hosting infrastructure and stored in the email account used to manage enquiries.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to manage enquiries, maintain appropriate business records, address complaints or disputes, and comply with applicable legal obligations.
When personal information is no longer required for these purposes, we will take reasonable steps to delete or securely dispose of it, subject to any lawful requirement to retain it.
8. Security of Your Information
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.
Access to enquiry information should be limited to authorised individuals and service providers who need it to perform their responsibilities.
Although we take reasonable precautions, no website, electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
If a security compromise occurs, we will take appropriate steps to address it and notify the Information Regulator and affected individuals where required by law.
9. Cookies and Technical Information
Our website’s hosting and security infrastructure may process technical information to support website operation, reliability and protection against misuse.
The use of cookies, analytics tools and other tracking technologies depends on the website configuration. Where such technologies are used, their purpose and any applicable consent requirements should be explained to visitors.
10. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, including POPIA, you may have the right to:
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of personal information where legally permitted.
- Object to certain types of processing where the law provides that right.
